The northern Rhone Valley boasts the greatest appellations in the world for top Syrah, and in particular, the steep hills of Hermitage has long been known for full-bodied, robust and extremely long-lived wines. Delas, Chave, Jaboulet, and Chapoutier are the four largest producers that dominate the appellation in terms of vineyard ownership. And among the latter two, their single vineyard wines La Chapelle, l’Ermite, Le Pavillon and Le Meal are among the most coveted in the world.
